WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT

Your lunch break, upgraded

A tuna melt should be creamy in the middle and golden on top. A little Greek yoghurt and mayonnaise keep the tuna soft, while finely chopped gherkin brings the tang that makes the cheddar taste even better.

Serve both open-faced halves together. You get all the familiar tuna-melt flavour, with the SRSLY sesame bagel bringing 18.8g protein before the filling goes on.

Golden, creamy and ready for lunch

A protein-packed lunch

Tuna, yoghurt, cheddar and the sesame bagel combine to provide approximately 51g protein per complete serving.

Big flavour, simple ingredients

Use mature cheddar for a savoury topping and a little gherkin for crunch and tang.

Ready in 15 minutes

A quick toast, a simple filling and a few minutes under the grill turn cupboard staples into a warm lunch.

LET'S MAKE IT

A 15-minute tuna melt

Drain the tuna before weighing it. Use 100g drained tuna, rather than assuming a whole tin has the right drained weight.

Nutrition & tips

Method

1

Drain the tuna well

Drain the tuna thoroughly, then weigh out 100g and flake it into a bowl. Removing excess water keeps the toasted bagel from going soggy.

2

Make the creamy filling

Mix the tuna with the Greek yoghurt, light mayonnaise, chopped gherkin, lemon juice and black pepper. Taste before adding salt, as the tuna, gherkin and cheese already bring plenty of seasoning.

3

Toast the bagel

Preheat the grill to medium-high. Separate the bagel halves and toast them lightly for about 60 seconds. SRSLY bagels colour quickly, so watch closely.

4

Top and melt

Place both halves cut-side up on a grill-safe tray. Divide the tuna mixture between them and scatter the measured cheddar evenly over the top. Grill for 3–5 minutes, watching throughout, until the filling is piping hot and the cheese is bubbling and golden.

5

Serve both halves

Let the cheese settle briefly, then serve both halves together straight away. One serving is the whole bagel with all the tuna filling and cheddar.
