Nutrition & tips

Method

1

Toast lightly

Preheat the grill to medium. Lightly toast both fruit bread slices until just golden, watching closely because the fruit can catch.

2

Layer the pear and cheese

Put the toast on a grill-safe tray. Divide the thin pear slices between them and scatter with the Stilton and walnuts.

3

Melt gently

Grill for 2–3 minutes until the cheese softens and the edges of the pear warm through. Keep the tray away from the element and watch the walnuts so they do not scorch.

4

Finish and enjoy

Scatter with thyme and eat while warm. Both topped slices make one light-lunch serving; no honey or butter is needed.
